Most newcomers to online matchmaking will expect to hear from someone in a very short timeframe. They have not developed the amount of patience it takes to meet someone who is worthwhile of their love and affection. Some people join a matchmaking site with no intention of really dating because they never intend to pay a monthly membership but do intend to flirt as much as they can until someone gets wise and boots them offline.

People who are serious about forming a long-lasting relationship will appreciate the anonymity that online matchmaking offers. They can ask many pertinent questions about the people they meet and have patience to wait until they get a reply. Each person can answer questions as frankly as they want, because their anonymity protects them from ridicule and protects all of their personal information.

A person can remain anonymous for as long as they like when they are dating using an online matchmaking site. The privacy policies on the matchmaking site will safeguard every person's identity at all times. Some information has to be conveyed because each dater must fill out a profile when they join the matchmaking site. Some sites require very little information and allow people to use a user name that is quite unique. Real names are never required but can be discussed when the person make personal contact by phone.

When anonymity is broken the dater must realize that the online matchmaking site is not responsible for their safety. People are in control of their own destiny when they take dating to another step. If they choose to meet the person in real life environments then they must take responsibility to take the right precautions. Most people will meet other daters from the matchmaking site in a public place and most of them will show up with a friend.
