Of all the tourists destinations one can go to in Spain the most popular of them all is the Costa Del Sol which stretches along the Spanish coastline for more than 150km. The biggest reason for this particular area of Spain being so popular with tourists is that it offers good weather to them all year round.

This area of Spain is divided up into two distinct areas one being the Eastern part and the other being the Western. The eastern part of this region is made up of a 54km stretch of the coastline and stretches from the east of Malaga city which is also the capital of the Province.

Whilst the other 100 km of coastline which runs from the west of Malaga city and stretches all the way to the border with the Province of Cadiz. It is this part of the coastline which has been developed and where most of the tourists coming to the region will stay.

The airport in Malaga is one of the busiest in the country and each year has more than 2 million visitors passing through its gates. These people will then head off to many of the resorts that stretch along the province's coastline the main ones being Nerja, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella.

Although many people come to spend time just relaxing on the wide open beaches that the Costa Del Sol has to offer. It is now becoming a very popular all year round destination for those who enjoy playing golf. Today the area has now more than 70 golf courses which can be played on and has earned the name of being the "Costa del Golf" as well.

As well as being able to play golf there are plenty of other activities to keep one amused whilst on holiday in the Costa del Sol. You could give sailing a try or scuba diving, plus there are dolphin safaris and treks into the countryside on horseback. Certainly by travelling further inland from the Costa del Sol coastline there are plenty of other exciting activities one can try.

For anyone who has experience of rock climbing then not far from Malaga you will find El Chorro. This part of Spain has become a popular location with climbers from around the world and many come to try out it rock faces during the winter months.

However, if you would rather just sit back and relax and watch the world go by then a visit to Marbella, Torremolinos and Benalmadena should be considered. Here you can spend time on its beautiful beaches soaking up a few rays of the sun or wander into one of its many delightful beach side bars or restaurants.

Malaga is very much a commercial city at heart but still has plenty to offer those who visit the city for a day. Along with the Port and Old Quarter, one can take in the Roman theatre and the Moorish Palace. Plus this is where the world renowned artiste Picasso was born and lived and so time should be taking to visit the Picasso Museum whilst in Malaga.

Certainly as you can see from above when it comes to the Costa Del Sol there is so much more to it than a beach holiday. As anyone will testify who has already been to this area of Spain it really is a wonderful vibrant place to visit.
