Six Flags is an amusement park given credit for its wild and crazy rides no other theme parks can compare to. So it's undoubtedly a surprise that Six Flags would still find a way to make itself an even bigger attraction by adding a world of wet mania to the mix called Hurricane Harbor.

Scattered all over the country, Hurricane Harbor water parks may either be next to its original counterpart or on its own. No matter how they're located, there are still consistent similarities: modernized water rides, the best updated water slides, exciting wave pools, raging rivers and soaking wet enjoyment.

The first ever Six Flags Water Park is in Arlington, Texas, and this original Hurricane Harbor just opened a new ride called the Mega Wedgie. Visitors can join the fun for the summer starting May 17. Tickets for general admission and children 48" and under go for $24.99 and $19.99, respectively. While toddlers under two years old are free. Hurricane Harbor Arlington offers parking for $10 and $15, depending on preference.

May 24 officially opens the summer season at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in L.A. where guests get what is called a "California Drenchin". Hurricane Harbor, L.A. is a weekends-only adventure as of now, and Hurricane Harbor's tickets in L.A. cost $29.99 (General Admission) and $20.99 for kids less than 48" in height. Up to 2 y/o are free. Combo tickets are available too for $69.99 which includes both Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor.

Hurricane Harbor of New Jersey sports what is deemed to be the tri-state area's finest water park. With minimal distance from two other Six Flags destinations: Great Adventure and Wild Safari Animal Park. Hurricane Harbor, N.J. is open to visitors only for the weekends at the moment. But their summer season begins on June 19. Prices for tickets begin at $24.99 (for kids below 54"), and for access to both Hurricane Harbor and Wild Safari Animal Park, combo tickets are available.

Bought as one ticket are admissions to both amusement and water parks at two Six Flags Theme Parks: Great America/Hurricane Harbor outside of Chicago, Illinois, and Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor of St. Louis. Hurricane Harbor of Illinois is its biggest water park, and they're preparing to open May 21 for their summer season, while St. Louis is opening theirs on May 15.

Near Baltimore and Washington, D.C., is Maryland's Six Flags America in Prince George's County with a wave pool known to be one of the country's largest. This is due to open summer in May, 2008.

Hurricane Harbor of Six Flags New England in Springfield, Massachusetts lays claim to two wave pools. From Boston it's just a quick drive and people can douse themselves there for the summer in late May.
