You can attract traffic by feeding people's thirst for knowledge. All this tactic requires is that you write high quality, informative articles.

If you have a newsletter, you should already be writing articles to send to your subscribers. By taking those same articles and submitting them to article directories, you establish yourself as an expert and drive free traffic to your site at the same time.

Thousands of other newsletter publishers just like you want great content to include in their publications. Only many of them are lousy writers, can't think of anything to write about or don't have the time to write their own articles.

So they turn to article directories to find that much needed content. These sites allow ezine publishers to reprint any listed article in their newsletter for free. All they have to do is give the author credit for the article and include a link back to the author's site.

When you are the author of the article, you get free publicity as well as a free link. And that one link could turn in to dozens, depending on how many publishers pick up your article.

Hundreds of article directories exist, and you can submit your articles to all of them at once using software. Or you can choose your favourite directories and submit your articles by hand. The more places you post your articles, the greater your chances of being seen by other publishers and then published in their newsletters.

Another way to gain exposure through articles is to contact the newsletter publishers directly. Using the Directory of Ezines or a simple Google search, find those who are publishing newsletters in your niche. Then encourage them to publish your articles for free-as long as they provide a link back to your site. Any article you post has the potential to go viral. When that happens, you better be prepared for serious traffic spikes.

If you're thinking about skipping this traffic tactic because you don't know how to write articles, you don't know what to write about or you think you can't write, get over it!

Article marketing is too important to your business to ignore its traffic-pulling potential. And don't worry. You don't have to be a top-notch writer to write great articles. You simply have to have knowledge about your subject matter and be able to talk about it. Just pretend like you're telling your ideas to a friend and the words will start flowing. If necessary, record what you want to say and have it transcribed. Then you have instant articles to submit to the article directories. And a whole lot of traffic to gain from the effort.
