Many people have a mole or multiple moles on their bodies and are seemingly harmless. A mole is considered to be a skin blemish. While many moles are harmless others may be cancerous and should be inspected by a dermatologist. If you have moles on your face, arms, legs, neck, or back you should know that you have three main options as far as having them removed, if you would like to be rid of them for good.

Natural Mole Removal

Your first choice would be to do it yourself in the privacy of your own home. You can purchase a natural mole remover formula at any local pharmacy and is purchased over the counter. These formulas contain herbs that destroy the cell tissue of the mole, thus helping in its removal.

To get things started you should cleanse the area to be treated thoroughly, and then scratched lightly with a pumice stone this helps the formula penetrate through the skin. You then simply apply the formula and let it set for the given amount of time, you may begin to feel a stinging or tingling sensation this is to let you know it is working. When finished a small scab will appear where the mole once was and the fall off. The scab should not be picked at or removed just let it fall off on its own so to reduce the appearance of scars. The scab may take a week to ten days to fall off completely.

Laser Mole Removal

Your next option would be laser mole removal procedures. During this procedure the mole is heated with a laser light beam with the intent of manipulating the cells or tissue of the mole. There will be no need for stitches after this procedure because the laser will seal any surrounding blood vessels.

This procedure begins with the skin surrounding the mole being numbed. Following the numbing is the laser which will reduce the mole and expose beautiful healthy skin. There is some pain during and following the procedure but is only minor and could be compared to that of a rubber band snapping on your skin.

This procedure does not guarantee there will not be any scaring. Minimal scaring may appear along with redness, bleeding around the surgery site, and skin color changes. Also, this procedure can be costly and may take more treatments than you would expect from a laser surgery.

Mole Removal Surgery

Lastly is mole removal surgery. This procedure follows similar guidelines as a laser removal, only you will need stitches after the procedure and you will be given an anesthetic to numb the surgery site. This method has risks that should be considered, infection of the surgery site due to lack of cleansing, and scars due to the stitches and the mole that has been removed.

If you are considering any of these treatment methods you should first talk to a dermatologist to make sure these methods would be right for you.
