Your colon is a very important organ in your body and is known as the large intestine in the digestive system. Its main function is to extract the water elements to the maximum level from the feces and to make it hard; it also helps to release the toxin from the body and makes the final digestion possible. Not only does the colon help in eliminating wastes in your body, it also helps the lungs and other organs function with ease.

If the colon is not functioning properly it can cause your body to store the wastes, making a great contribution to increase the body weight and causes a number of other health problems. The health problems related are the gall bladder and the lungs which mostly occur due to the poor functionality of the colon, this can also cause the development of a stone in the stomach. It is generally considered that more than 90% of health problem starts with the upset ness of the stomach and the colon is one of most important parts of stomach.

Lack of exercise and unhealthy eating habits cause harm to the colon. Other conditions like the irregular hygienic habits and not taking the natural call seriously also affect the functionality of the colon. High levels of stress along with other health related problems can affect the functioning of the colon greatly. The increasing weight in most people today is because of the poor functioning of the colon. Improper functioning of the colon can cause health problems to an individual.
The proper functioning of the colon is the only solution to the most of the problems related to weight gain. A slight irregularity in the functioning of the colon can increase the weight rapidly. It can be a reason of cancer to the colon and other parts of the stomach like the bladder and small intestine.
You can improve the effectiveness of the colon easily by exercising and having good eating habits. Nutritional food, like green vegetables can make a great contribution in making the functionality of the colon effective. A morning walk is one of the good exercises that can improve the functionality of the colon. Other exercises like jogging are also very effective. You may also try yoga. There are different types of yoga which can make a great improvement. The yoga is to be done in supervision of an expert only. In addition good hygienic habits can contribute positively for the proper functioning of the colon.
There are also colon pills and other medicines that can help in improving the colon functionality. You may also consider a colonoscopy as another effective solution.
