Training is also essential for the team so that they can evaluate the processes - because sometimes it is almost impossible to revive and fine-tune an old defective process to upgrade it to the level demanded by Six Sigma. Instead, it is suggested that they design a new one according to the requirements using fundamental Six Sigma principles and DFSS. This will help in reduction of the defect level and increasing the organization's profit, as well as customer satisfaction. Both are very important for the success of the organization in the long term and earning profits in the short term.

Six Sigma is not a profit vending machine that will start yielding money as soon as it is implemented. To achieving lasting success, proper training has to be imparted and for proper training a lot money, as well as time, has to be spent. However, if you opt for fine-tuning an old system rather than deploying 6Sigma, it may cost more and the result will still be the same. Therefore, proper control of right type of methodology is absolutely essential for the success of any organization.
